Hey, Gunner. This is not about me as well. I have advised my friends to go out & do the things that they enjoy. Perhaps you will meet your mate there. Not looking. Just sharing life.

My personal experience is this. That once I was sure of the divorce, I consoled a friend. He suggested that I write down what I wanted to find. That way I could recognize what the universe might offer me. All of the sudden, I met the man of my dreams in the CVS parking lot. We are not perfect but extremely happy. Hugs, HELENLOUISE J.

Hi Helen. I love that idea, 'just sharing life'. Humans tend to overcomplicate things to the point where we forget life is for living.

Thanks for the reminder! (And glad to hear you're extremely happy ;).)

Interesting. There are so many macro trends at work here that people’s real lives often get tangled up in it all in the short term (like the ones you mention: the friendship recession, dating app/social media popularity, more women securing financial independence). It will be so interesting to see how this all plays out over time.

This is so true. People like to point at one thing as the main culprit for any social trend, but there's always a bunch of stuff going on at both the societal and individual level - plus those two levels don't necessarily map one-to-one.

Interesting is one way to describe it... 😉
