Great post! The idea of conspicuous mimicry also makes me think of the use of avatars, in gaming and elsewhere. Because there are even fewer confines for avatars than for filters (though I know there are filters that can turn you into non-human situations).
Last time I heard the word mimic was in a novel I‘ve read.
